The United States of America is supposed to be THE pillars of Democracy. Why is it that our policies are being forwarded by the most volatile and hate-filled minority of our population? One human citizen, one vote. Now and for all times. |

http://www.change.org/petitions/voters-sign-petition-to-get-the-28th-amendment-to-the-constitution-into-law?share_id=kYfHEoghxR&pe=d2e
I posted to our group this link. Help send Congress a message from We the People. This is to petition congress to add the 28th Amendment to limit time served in office is 12 years and no longer. In the 70's people had made an Amendment to allow 18 year olds to have the right to vote. It took less than 3 months and less than 8 days to ratify into law. Please visit Change.org site above and read my petition. Pass it along if you agree or simply delete it if you don't. I believe you will like what you read. Change.org has done many petitions and passed and changed laws to help people. Check it out please.
Visit my Face book page to make sure I am who I say I am if you want to check me out first. I recommend it if you have any doubts. Dan Luttrell, Bedford, IN.
Thank you for your consideration of my petition. Dan |

The rich and powerful have their place, but it must be tempered by the voices of all those who have not the money and power. It is not that they have, but that they are given so much more by those "WE" (not me) elect to more and more power. I am only negative about myself, my skills, abilities and capacity to affect change or influence in others. I have never had the chance to speak out, speak up, or even join the chorus of voices (See the MGM movie, "Network") screaming out the window, "I'M MAD AS HE77, AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!"
I have some personal writings I have offered to others for peruse, and have had no takers. This is the way I have been treated for 35 years as a voter and opinionated crank. My opinions are never worth anything since they have never come along with a large packet of either money or influence. There is little truly divisive in my writings, mostly decrying the system and suggesting methods of improving the system we already have, and make them work better, and in a manner more representative. Only those who have benefited excessively from the current system (influence on politics, major aid packages, tax-breaks, government contract influence), taking masses of the Nation's wealth out and not returning anything to the improvement of the Nation ("... establish Justice, promote the domestic Tranquility, ensure the common defence, provide for the General Welfare, ...") earn my disfavor. When they truly invest in the system that made their Wealth and Power possible, they earn my thanks, gratitude and respect.
I would hope that my words would at least be read, and some comments and interest returned so that I could take my interests out of the bottom of the barrel and raise them to at least be seen in the crowd. |

We need to break up the media moguls holdings. Such as the stranglehold on FOX NEWS by Rupert Murdock, is an Australian who came here to get richer through media conglomeration...which he started in Australia. We need to break up his conservative rhetoric spewing media empire and bring independence and truth back to the American media....just as our grandfathers broke up Standard Oil and Ma Bell in the middle of the last century!!! |

It is time for candidates to stand up for their issues, stop mud slinging, stop the conflict and partisanship! If you have to gain votes by trashing your political opponent and do not have an agenda that you can stand up and promote than you have no reason to be running for office!
Political Campaigns need to be reformed -
(1) You cannot say ANYTHING (good or bad) about your opponent!
(2) You must stand on your platform
(3) Promote YOURSELF |

Getting ready for 2012. Our fiscal house is NOT in order. We need tax reforn and need to tax those who've had the luxury of a free ride for ever so long. Do the words SHARED SACRIFICE mean a thing?
I received my first degree in Eductation of the Hearing Impaired, but quit after 8 years. While I loved teaching, I'm totally opposed to tenure. I was so tired of watching aging teachers biding their time for retirement and bragging about it, while all the young and energetic teachers left in droves. Every teacher should receive a year-to-year contract based on competency.
Health care - Don't anyone think of giving me a voucher! If I get a voucher, then everyone in congress gets the same voucher dollar for dollar. Paul Ryan, are you sitting on your brains?
I'd love to see congress have a "dress down" day. I would laugh myself silly to see the Republicans out of their blue suits not knowing what to do wearing jeans and t shirts - they would still look stiff, talk stiff, walk stiff and vote against the good of the common man /woman /child. |

We work best as a nation when we set aside petty differences and work together for a common goal. Our nation has been hit hard economically and we need to rebuild from the bottom up. We cannot afford to continue the partisan name-calling and fear-based rhetoric that has stained our nation with animosity. |

My family and I have been at political odds for 20 plus years because of the negative political language used by politicians and media personalities. It's time now for this deplorable behavior to end. We live in a nation in which debate among politicians and media personalities is spread like wild fire by the media. When our politicians act like children having tantrums it negatively affects and has powerful influence on others in our communities and families. WE DEMAND THAT OUR POLITICIANS ACT WITH CIVILITY. |

I want to be able to confront rabid Republicans who have hijacked our democratic process as to What their alternative plan is if important and necessary funding projects planned are deleted from the budget. We are responding their No votes in dazed silence, whatever can be said and explained and justified and validated should commence. Alternatives need be expected and demanded from those who are holding our budget process hostage, we can not silently accept this and we are intelligent enough to offer riveting reasons to approve the budget or insist on definite complementary compromise without being at the expense of the poorest among us...Sheesh! |

I am disgusted by the tone and language I hear from many politicians. I expect the leaders of my government, local, state, and federal to be reasoned, educated and dignified. Lately, I have seen too much yelling and crying. I have contemplated moving to another country. Wall Street, politicians, banks, and some of the media seen to have all gone crazy. |

The Coffee Party is so very appropriately named.
How refreshing it is to know there is a movement beginning that is actually not devisive but unifying.
This country is in serious trouble if we do not stop bickering and labeling.
We have to find common ground and work together.
Start with the things we can agree on and save the hardest for last.
We can do it if we try. |

To whom it may concern:
We the people are disgusted & fed up with divisiveness.
It is time to come together to take care of our country and our legal residents.
It is time:
*to eject all illegal aliens and go after the companies/corporations that employ them with massive fines - that will make it fiscally negligent to continue on current path. Use the money to help secure the borders and provide those who are willing to follow the proper procedures a more efficient Immigration & Naturalization Service.
*to stop playing "World Police" by stopping all military support for any other nation, unless they are willing to pay the actual costs.
*to end the war on drugs by decriminalizing/legalizing and applying a consumption tax on all of these substances.
*for the FairTax Act and to abolish the IRS, which will allow individuals the ability to spend or save more their money as they see fit.
*to spend only money that has already collected… quit spending money you/we do not have, that our children nor our grandchildren will be able to afford.
If you feel the insatiable urge to build:
*a school – build it in the USA.
*a road – build it in the USA.
*a water treatment plant – build it in the USA.
*a refinery – build it in the USA.
*a state of the art utility grid – build it in the USA.
If you feel the insatiable urge to feed people – feed the hungry in the USA. |

We must be able to see that civil and peaceful debate and dissent are more patriotic than either mindless compliance or hateful polarization and violence. Just as in our family relationships we have to keep in mind that our relationships with our loved ones are more important than winning arguments with them, the bond we share as citizens of what is now the oldest democratic republic in the world is more important than political parties. |

Please find a way to decrease the power of the NRA. I truely believe there are some
very dangerous kooky groups and individuals that are allowed to purchase and own
guns and automatic weapons that have no business owning them and alot has to do with the NRA and their lobbyists.
I also want to neutralize Palin and Bachmannn and their inflamatory mentality.
Work hard; we're counting on your voice to show the Tea Party and the rest of the USA that we can have different religions and views, but keep our freedom and still live civily.
We also need to express to the Religious right that their view and beliefs are not necessarily held by all and we are entitled to our beliefs without recriminations. I believe a people can be good people and be agnostic too. Pass that along as well.
Lastly, please talk about corruption in:
Politics and Politicians
Fox News, distortion of truth in America and being a Responsible News Port
Lobbyists
thanks so much for being our voice. I think the USA has alot to do to become fair and
good.

It was angry hate-filled talk radio that ignited the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.
Violence can be triggered by repetitive hate-talk, heard over and over relentlessly,
blaming a person or people for whatever is going wrong in a nation state.
Let's tell Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and others to STOP advocating violence and stop indulging themselves in provocative, nasty and personal attacks. |

HATE is NEVER a family value. We all have different upbringing, experiences, and opinions. That doesn't make those who think like us all "right" and all others "wrong". We're just different. And with few exceptions, I don't believe we are all that far apart from each other in many of our beliefs. By using violent language we are dividing our country and ourselves. This has to stop. We have to come together and try to find SOLUTIONS. Keep an open mind; your beliefs may be based on inaccurate information. We don't have to all agree, but we can be civil about it.

I want to remain anonymous however I am very interested in bringing back a civil tongue today. Obama is doing a great job keeping up our spirits during these difficult times. I really enjoyed his State of the Union Speech. I also enjoyed seeing the Republicans and Democrats sitting next to each other and using their cloths and tie colors to state their party affiliations.
Negative politics and the disrespect politicians show each other today has cast such a negative image on the political system today and is truly embarrassing to watch. The media feeds on these antics which makes it next to impossible to watch the news today. I have recently chosen to tune into Gayle King for the news instead because she uses respect and a more positive up beat approach to the subjects she discusses. Obama has kept his smile and positive attitude through it all and is such a good example for all of us. |

We hear, quite loudly and quite often from certain Tea Party advocates, that violent rhetoric, and even violent confrontations (a favorite is Andrew Jackson's propensity for dueling), were de rigeur for our earlier national political interactions. I will say simply that we, as a nation, have grown beyond such and that growth is to our credit. |

When authority figures use language such as "lock and load" and "put the cross hairs" on certian people or areas, this might possibly cause certian people to react or behave in unpredictable ways. I thought that as human beings we had risen above the need for spiteful, trite, childishness such as this. Now it is getting people shot...how much worse can it get? |

There is no reason for violent speech except for emotional fulfillment for extremely frustrated citizens to vent hostility toward (often undeserving) targets that they believe to be in some manner responsible for their grievous state of being.
Let us not only eliminate the rhetoric, but also work on reducing the injustices that foment such hostilities, and misinformation promulgated by self-serving ideologues. |
