| Hello, I am Victor Mata a young, progressive, and a university student interested in politics. I am particularly interested in grassroots organization. I think I may have a way to get young people to register and vote for the progressive cause. I am spreading the word already in my area with young people. I believe we can keep a Democrat in, but it starts with like minded people like us. I am currently working for the Obama Campaign and we need as many young people to vote as possible for the democratic cause. I was thinking of holding a Registration Party at various venues across Illinois, now this would entail informational booths around the venue about issues that directly effect youth voters. We could also find some local bands that would be willing to play. I can also probably get the Sun-Times, Harold, and maybe even the Tribune to cover this story. It would be good publicity for these bands trying to make it, good publicity for any venue that decides to hold a Party, and good publicity for Democrats. Who knows where this could take us. I am already in talks with a couple of venues who would be willing to hold an event. Let me know also if there is any other way i can help. I am willing to do any other kind of work to help out. |
