| We need a return to the FCC Fairness Doctrine which Ronald Reagan took from us all to further Right Wing/Conservative causes. Were there a conspiracy on the right rather than a coalescence of unrelated events it would have begun here. When there is no cost to the media for airing smears and lies, plus benefit to them in revenue and concessions granted, there remains no reason to not do so.
When airtime had to be given to rebuttals we had a civil discourse, the airwaves were not full of lies, and the public was much better informed. |
